Exhibition
On the occasion of Women Writers’ Day, celebrated since 2016 on the Monday closest to the 15th of October (the anniversary of the death of Teresa of Ávila), we have inaugurated the exhibition of the REWIND project. This exhibition brings to life the powerful literary legacies of Inés Echeverría, Zoila Aurora Cáceres, Clorinda Matto, María Enriqueta Camarillo, and Isabel Carrasquilla.
In the words of Ana Santos Aramburo, Director of the National Library of Spain from 2013 to 2024: “We are reclaiming the words of women writers whose texts reflect emotions, quests, and struggles. These are courageous women whose works have often been overlooked. Recovering their voices today is an act of justice and recognition for them all.” (https://diadelasescritoras.bne.es/)
You can experience this captivating journey through the forgotten voices of Latin American women writers from the 14th to the 18th of October 2024 at the Sala de Esgrima, Colégio Almada Negreiros (NOVA – FCSH).
I would like to express my sincere thanks to Joana Viera Paulino and Iris Comino Comino for their invaluable help in making this exhibition possible.
For those unable to join us in person, don’t miss the chance to discover these extraordinary stories from anywhere in the world:
